DNZM QSO QSM
Dame Rosemary Horton DNZM QSO QSM is a philanthropist and mentor for New Zealand charities.
Her passion and focus, over 40 years, has been women and children.
Founding Chairman of the following: Friends of Aotea Trust, The Aotea Centre Performing Arts Trust, Friends of Starship and Trustee of the Starship Foundation. Chairman of NZ Breast Cancer Foundation and Chairman or Trustee of numerous other charitable organisations too many to mention.
In 2011 she became a Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her services to philanthropy. In She was named EY ASB Social Entrepreneur 2013. Other awards include the New Zealand 1990 Commemoration Medal, the Mayors Living Legend Award in Auckland, Distinguished Citizen of Auckland Award and The Catherine Variety Sheridon Award from the children’s charity Variety. The Henry A Rosso Award for Ethical Fundraising.
She is currently Patron Starship Foundation, Patron Breast Cancer Foundation, Patron Rautakauri Music Therapy Trust, Patron World Child Cancer, Patron Yellow Belle for NZ Women’s Refuge, Patron of Abbeyfield NZ, Trustee of the Athlae Lyon Starship Research Trust,Ambassador Macular Degeneration, and Ambassador for the The University of Auckland’s Centre of Brain Research.

SCOTT MACFARLANE
BSc MBChb FRACP
Scott has been a paediatrician and paediatric oncologist since being awarded FRACP in 1985. He was trained in Auckland and Melbourne and has held clinical appointments in Melbourne, Brisbane, Hamilton and Auckland. He has been appointed to a number of leadership positions including clinical director of paediatrics in Hamilton, president of ANZCHOG, chair of POSG and clinical leader at Starship Children’s Hospital. He is past continental president of Oceania for SIOP and was chair of the organising committee for the SIOP 43rd Congress in Auckland in 2011.
He has been involved at national level with Child Cancer Foundation and was chair of the Ronald McDonald Trust Auckland. He is National Clinical leader: child cancer, a trustee for the A+ Charitable Trust and a ministerial appointee to Cancer Control New Zealand.
Scott’s long interest in improving outcomes for Pacific island children with cancer is a result of treating many such children over the past 25 years

SIMON LALA

Simon Lala a Chartered Accountant in Public Practice became involved with child cancer 25 years ago, after his daughter was diagnosed with Leukaemia at age 6. He is a Life Member and past Chair of the New Zealand Child Cancer Foundation and Child Cancer International. Simon has served on the Board of Canteen, the NZ organisation supporting teenagers with cancer as well as been Trustee of Ronald McDonald Accommodation Trust.
In order to fulfil his vision of helping children with cancer in developing countries, Simon was instrumental in the formation of World Child Cancer ( UK) in 2007 and close to home, founded The World Child Cancer Charitable Trust in 2010 specifically to help fund the Pacific Child Cancer project.
For his services to Child Cancer in New Zealand, Simon was made a Member of The New Zealand Order of Merit in 2013.
Simon continues to be involved with NZ Child Cancer Foundation and Child Cancer International as a Financial Advisor.

PENNY THOMPSON
CEO of the Estee Lauder Group in both New Zealand and Australia over a period of 26 years. Retired and returned to New Zealand in 2008. She currently mentors businesses along with her charity work
